Welcome To My World:

a story between generations

Generation Alpha

Generation Alpha (Gen Alpha) are currently children and teens born from 2010 to 2025. Being born in the digital age, their daily life is overwhelmed with screens, social media, and online platforms. Often, you might hear them say out-of-this-world phrases like “6,7” or “Aura”. The slangs develop from social media trends and it is often how Gen Alpha communicates with each other.

The Purpose of Our Project

Welcome to My World aims to address the communication gaps with Gen Alpha children and Millennial parent relationships. Gen Alpha children mostly struggle to naturally and authentically communicate with their parents because of their large generational gaps. On the other hand, they are able to express themselves freely through slang and other forms of Gen Alpha communication when conversing with people closer to their age group. Often, their parents are dismissive and close-minded with their lingo because they do not understand or they do not immerse themselves enough in social media to have context.
